Ingredients
- 1 box of your favorite pasta
- 1 med onion finely chopped
- 1 Stick of butter
- 4-5 Pieces of Prosciutto chopped into ½ inch pieces
- 1/3 cup of vodka
- 3 garlic cloves chopped or thinly sliced
- 1 can crushed tomato’s
- 1 small heavy cream
- Parmesan cheese
Directions
Step 1
Cook the pasta in a large pot of heavily salted water per package instructions and remember to set aside 1 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining.
Step 2
Sauté the onion with butter once onion is almost clear.
Step 3
Add pieces of the prosciutto cook till golden and breaking apart in the pan. Stir in vodka and cook for about 5 minutes until the alcohol burns off.
Step 4
Add chopped/thin sliced garlic and cook for another 2 mins till they get aromatic.
Step 5
Add tomato and let cook for about 15 minutes or longer.
Step 6
Finally add the heavy cream to your preferred color. For a creamy sauce, blend/mash the tomato with a generous amount of heavy cream. If you like a chunkier sauce, skip the blending/mashing.
Step 7
Remove from heat toss the pasts with the finished sauce in a bowl. Make sure the pasta is evenly coated and serve top with more Parmesan, basil, and black pepper (or red pepper flakes) for a beautiful presentation, and serve right away.
