Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Day old bread cut into ¾ inch
  • 1/3 Cup Golden Raisins
  • 3 Ounces Cream cheese cut into ¼ inch cubes
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 ½ Cups Milk
  • ½ Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Directions

Step 1

Prep-4 hours or overnight.

Step 2

Spray 11 x 7″ baking dish with nonstick spray.  Place breadcrumbs in even layer in dish; sprinkle raisins and cream cheese evenly over bread.

Step 3

Beat eggs in medium bowl with electric mixer or by hand until blended.  Incorporate milk, ½ cup syrup and vanilla into eggs.  Pour egg mixture into to banking dish over bread mixture.  Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or as long as overnight.

Step 4

Preheat oven to 350°

Step 5

Remove dish from refrigerator.  Combine sugar and cinnamon in small bowl, sprinkle evenly over strata.

Step 6

Bake, uncovered, for 40-45 minutes or until puffy golden brown and knife inserted into center comes out clean.  Cut into squares and serve with additional syrup.
