Ingredients
- 1 pound beef short ribs
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 onion, sliced, you may use dried onion (optional)
- 1 clove garlic minced (optional)
- 1 tsp of tomato paste
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle stout beer
- 1 cup beef stock
Directions
Step 1
Season ribs with pepper. Dredge in flour until coated; shake off excess.
Step 2
Heat butter in the pan or crockpot you are cooking with. Cook ribs until browned, about 5 minutes per side. Remove ribs & set aside.
Step 3
Add onion & garlic to the crockpot or pan; cook & stir until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Return ribs to the pot. Pour in beer while scraping the browned bits of food off the bottom of the pan. Pour in beef stock & add tomato paste.
Step 4
Cover & simmer over low heat until ribs are very tender, about 2-3 hours.
